Hi everyone i have a huge prob with my clarke 155 arc inverter hope someone can help.
When you turn set on all lights workin.when i strike up the set runs good for about 5 or six seconds then stops break off strike up again and runs fine for 5 or six seconds. No overheat light and all runnin normally . Does this when set up for both stick and tig please help !!!!

How old is the set?

If new, then it sounds faulty - take it back for a refund or an exchange set

If old then it sounds like its knackered.

( Fault seems to be a duff thermal cut-out )

Could just be poor connection or bad solder joint. Will it continue this strike--5 seconds weld---breakoff then strike--5 seconds weld---breakoff on and on or does it stop completly?

Yea i thought thermal cut out. Set second hand cost next to nothing prob as faulty. I like a challenge so ill have a look at board and thermal cut out . Set just keeps firing up for 5 or 6 seconds doesnt shut down. Spares seem readily avaliable i do have an electrical /electronic backround although im a metal worker but dont know anybody who could look at the set. Will open it up in my lunch break have a goose! .

Mmmmmmmmm no burns one joint to a resistor dodgy re soldered no different. Cant understand.....set works perfect on tig above 80 A stick works fine all time exept takes a bit of striking to get it goin below 80 any ideas...........
