Newbie with a question

Hi everyone, I have has just joined this marvelous forum with lots of useful information, anyway my question is, I have just purchased a Silverline 40-100A welder, would this welder be of any use for use on cars, only small welding jobs? Any advice would be warmly welcome.
Here are the machine specs:-

28% Rated duty cycle
28Amps @ 60%duty cycle
Max weld thickness 2mm

Simple answer= NO.

You need a mig welder not a stick welder.

Small welding jobs will become larger welding jobs, because you will burn straight through the metal, the weld pool with an arc is to large for car bodywork, mig rules car bodywork jobs generally.

Yeh You need to go for a mig using gas, stick is generally aimed at welding heavy plate, typically over 3mm and more likely 5mm plus, still I find myself going back to stick for important welds

It might be of use for the thicker metal bits such as sub frame etc. So not totally useless for cars, just of limited use for modern vehicles, with their paper thin bodywork.

The giveaway detail was in the name of the welder you gave. Silverline 40-100A That's the range of power it has. The 40 part is the lowest setting of amps. 40 is too high for bodywork, you need something like half that to not burn though bodywork on minimum settings.
