Hallo there,
Really new to welding, and when i say im new to welding i mean i have no experience what so ever Into my classic cars and wanting to learn to weld, get some of thoes rusty holes filled up!
Live on a farm and we have an Arc welder stashed away, used for heavy agricultural stuff, making gates, barriers, repairing trailors etc. Heard that this would not be very useful for car bodywork repairs however, being an Arc welder.
Having a look at a couple of threads on this here website it seems some people do use Arc welders for car bodywork however. So deicded it might be worth looking into, why buy an expensive Mig welder when ive got a perfectly good Arc right here
So, my question, would our Arc welder be suitable for bodywork repairs?
What is it?...i dont know....it works perfectly well, brother uses it regularaly but it is ancient, its metal casing is covered surface rust so dont know the maker. However, have gotten this info from one side:
SIP140
240 volts
50Hz-3,2Kw
So, is it any use to me?
Thanks, Graham
