Hi everyone

Sorry to post before I had introduced myself, but better late than never!

Basically got fed up relying on my father/mates to do my welding so took the plunge and brought a welder myself!

So far I have found the info on here most useful!

Will post some pics of my progress as I go!

Just off the infamous Bodmin Moor!

Yes quite a few classic cars (and tractors) in the family: brother has 3 Chevettes, 2 mk1 Fiestas and a Bedford CF panel van, Father has a series of 7 International Harvester tractors (and a couple more in bits).

I grew up at a place called Ladock and i know the area quite well. I noticed that you have a manta at the moment and also a track day Chevette. Do you race then or was it just a case of 'oooh look at that... I want it!!!!'

Yes I know where Ladock is, the red Chevette came from Grampound!

I dont have the Manta anymore. The previous owner had kept the car outside with perished window rubbers and the floor was in a very bad way! It could have been saved, but because it was a hatch and not a coupe I didnt have the motivation to put the work in, so she died to keep other Mantas alive - and donated a few parts for my Chevettes! I would love a V8 Manta A tho!

Pretty much all the cars are intended for motorsport. I am currently rebuilding the white Chevette to do sprinting and hillclimbing, and once the car gets a bit tired she will be retired to autocross/rallying. The other cars I intend to develop one by one, each time improving on the previous effort until I have the ultimate hillclimb Chevette or thats the theory!
