My bead roller was knocked up from scrap, I hadn't even seen one when I
made it. It did a couple of car interiors than got stored in the hedge, I used it a few years after that to step roll some replacement panels, last time was
to put a line on a replacement body panel. I fished around in the hedge and
it was still there. Doesn't look any worse than I remember it;-)
Most annoying thing is I used the gears off the back/forwards rocker bit in
my old lathes gear train and the handle from the old lathes carriage. I
remembered them as I saw the lathe departing round the corner on the back
of the scrap yard truck..
It's now got a second and third gear from a velocette gearbox and a flex plate[as handle] from a SDi. Just got to make some rollers now and I can use it. Rollers never lasted past a job, they always got used for something else.
