I am on the way to moving(ha ha ha) and have been getting a bit cash tight.
Then a few days back I was asked to make a group of musician sculptures for a couple to put in their garden.
Perfect, I have been getting stressed about the move and concerned about money. And find a busy job occupies my mind nicely. I want it done quickly in case move happens suddenly. I will post about move nonsense later.
So Violinist, Sax player and double bass player.
First day I made the sax and violin and cut out all the pieces for the people and tacked together hands and feet.
Violin and sax first.
That was Wednesday.
Thursday start on the violin player, I figured do him first as I have spent years thinking about arm positions and knew he would be a pig to make. I expected two days.
Started about 11.00am, this was done by 4.30.
Not too bad, the head, hands arms etc are all just tacked on and need a fair amount of tweaking to get everything right. I was chuffed to bits that he stands up on his titchy feet. he is based on a photo of Nigel Kennedy who seems to have filled out a bit over the years,
His audience seem to appreciate him.
The customer is delighted which is always a relief.
