Nickel plating over silver solder or lead loading

Hi all, I am going to fab. up a radiator surround from steel for my Austin 7 special, most probably using 0.9 CR sheet. I want to keep the distortion down to a minimum so the plan is to fabricate it from a number of panels joggled and either silver soldered together or spot welded and lead loaded.
Question is will Nickel plating take on silver solder or lead?

Can't comment on lead, but nickel plating takes to silver solder no problem.

Hello Wendel,

Rolls Royce soft solder their radiators, as were some Jaguar radiator grilles.
