Bought a nifty little hours-run meter
I'll keep the old one as a fall-back, and if I have to, I can plumb it in tandem, but I'm not doing any blasting so don't need that for now.Nice purchase, you will not regret it, so much easier on the ears as well. I've recently gone from 2 25l direct drive compressors to a single 200l belt drive unit & it's great being able to use air tools without worrying about running out of air!
This one... I'll put it on a box on the wall, fed from the motor supply, and away from vibration.Be interested to know where you bought it & how much, I was considering fitting one myself. I used to change the oil on the old pumps annually but an hour meter would be so much better.
I suppose that's the thing - it's all relative. I know this isn't silent by any means, but it's probably half the noise of the other one. I can stand it going on and off in the same space without it bugging me, unlike the other one. Of course, when I get fed up with it I can banish it to the outer workshop, where it can live with the spiders.I've used an identical Wolf for years, but even that got to feel noisy. Dropped on a low hours Hydrovane this year, so that's now installed under the house - can't be heard from boundary.
The air gun I'm using on the other end of the hose of course . . . ;-)
