I have recently bought a second hand snap on 130 turbo mig welder.It all seems to function well,and much better since changing the tip and earth clamp.Although when it is simply switched on it makes quite a pronounced humming/vibrating noise.Is this normal or should it need some attention.

i have a snapon mig too and the fan can be heard but it is not too noisy

lubricate the fan bearings.

Use a light machine or sewing machine oil.
Not anything solvent based, wd40 for an example.

The fan blades can sometimes get heavily coated in muck, if one or two of the blades drop this debris it can put the fan balance out and cause a rumbling.
I can always tell when my pc one needs defluffed due to the increase in noise.
Fans are cheap enough off ebay if anything serious has gone wrong with it
