Non Return valve and pressure release fitting

I'd like one for when I link two compressors together. There's loads on Ebay but has anyone a personal and recent recommendation for one? Some of them look properly ropy in the pictures and I don't suppose they'll be better IRL

Either 1" or 3/4" male BSP into the tank and 1/2" BSP male to the compressor. Hose to the on/off switch can be anything as I haven't got one of those yet.

Or has anyone got a spare they'll part with for cash. I thought I had one but might have a bit too ruthless when tidying recently.

no need for one if the pressures are virtualy matched both comps will have one anyhow . just fit a ball valve in between if u only want to use one without filling both

I have two compressor's linked. Just have a lever valve on each compressor and a tee in-between. So I can use either or both.

It's two compressors feeding into one receiver. I'd like to able to run either or both depending on my whims and moods, and what I need the air for.

The second compressor, for which I want the NRV, is currently just a bare unit, no switch, no NRV.

I'll take a photo when it's light.

If you had no nrv, and were just running one of the compressors, would it end up that the second [off] compressor's tank was just added to the volume of your receiver?

I mean, you know what you want to do, which is fine (I don't have an answer for you on nrv quality) but I'm wondering why it would be undesirable to add to the reciever volume like this?


I'm pretty sure that the reason one of my compressors self discharges when left is a poor (on board) NVR. So that could be your reason anyway. I'll watch this thread and see if any of the recommendations are suitable for my own unit!

There's a non return valve on the discharge side of every compressor. It's built into the cylinder head.
You can also add another one at the pressure outlet of the air reservoir, so the other compressor won't simply fill the receiver of the non running one.

Here's the set up. The compressor on the top of the tank is plumbed in and working. The similar sized one under the Honda box has yet to be connected. The plan is to use a 1" female port into the receiver, not visible, but it's directly below the port with the square headed plug.

My vague plan when blasting is the have the shelf mounted unit running constantly and the receiver mounted unit cutting in and out as necessary.

Or you could try these guys https://www.hoses.co.uk - they do a range, I've bought a small cheapy spring loaded one from them and it did the job.

Not worth worrying about. There are adapters, from one size to another, readily available.
