non return valve on air compressor tank

Hi guys,

I am wondering if the following is the right thing for me. I have like a lot of us on here 2 compressors, a small aldi one and a bigger one (respectively 8 bar and 10 bar max pressure).

I have them connected like in the tutorial, but the problem is the small one has too much pressure when the big one fills up.

So I think I need a non return valve connected on the green tank before the flexible pipe.

I am not too sure of what to get, I found this or this

I don't know I have to say, I don't know much about these thing.

I have notice that if the red one is empty first and then it fill up and eventually fill up the green one, and the green one is releasing the pressure through the little red valve of the picture.



Does this make any sense ?

if you are combining both for more air capacity then a simple pipe between them will do, it all depends on what you will be using them for and the best way to set them up.
just seen the way you have them connected

now i understand what you mean, the small compressor is releasing air from the safety valve,
so yes a non return on the small one would stop the higher pressure machine form doing that

I will get one on the line and I will be sorted.

I am planning to use it with DA sander and all, so far the big is about ok but a little more air will be nicer as I have a second compressor.

If the larger compressor is filling the system higher than the smaller capacity will the smaller one ever kick in ?

yes, it will kick in if the large compressor cant cope with air demand, and if it doesnt kick in then its not really needed

I suppose I will have to try and see.
I did 2 test with the compressor together and the security valve kicked in both time, so I switch it off, as I though it is not fully safe.

I will let you know, how I get on.
