Meccano.
I'm well retired (64 + vat) got sick of jig saws etc, got meself a JCB 3CX to play with ( not in the house) In the evenings I decided to do something creative. Went back to childhood and had a go building a couple of models. Nothing to scale or colour just off the cuff. The truck is 6 wheel drive tipper, the dumper is 4 wheel drive artic chassis. Both have 2 -12volt dc motors, one for motion and one for tip. The hard part is trying to replicate the hydraulic system with a mechanical one. Any way it all works.
Some pics. I also have some pics of welding and fab repairs to the JCB 3cx will post them next time I'm at the machine.

Neither did mine, Went to a local auction about 8 months ago to startwith and stuff from dealers. Apparently there is quite a following.

I had to make the plates for the dumper skip as they wern't available in those dimensions.

Some one suggested having a go at a Dalek (Mustn't like me ) But I did. Tried the Meccano plates but it looked like a patch work quilt. so set too making the outer shell, a bit of drilling ensued. Inside is Meccano. It's motorised, the head reciprocates, eye moves up and down gun spins and sucker type grip moves back and forth. motion back and forth with castor type front wheels so it deflects any obstacles. (2x 12 volt Leccy motors)
