Not another bloody dragonfly

Howdy everyone.

The ghost of pondman has popped in. Never sure for how long these days!

I've made yet another dragonfly! And because I never seem to settle of a wing pattern and overall head/eye style, every time they change a little. This one is by far my favourite.

I used different sized slugs welded together in a half sphere to get them like that. I also changed the pattern on the wings. Another part I never quite got.

Once it was done I thought id just get it powder coated black but it was looking at me going hell no! You ain't painting me plain ass black! So I went finishing and decided to order some pearl paint.

I had the sculpture zinc sprayed to protect if from the elements and then sprayed it with these aerosol paints I got online. I'm not really set up for painting, my workshop is pretty cold so I had to make shift a little oven.

Overall I'm very happy with how it came out and as usuall wishing I'd started painting my things earlier on.

Oi I copyrighted slugs in sculpture It looks good, I've tried twice to use them upside down like that and they looked rubbish for me.
