Not reaching pressure

I have just gone to use my air compressor and it is not building up sufficient pressure. It seem's as a capped end is blowing out .
This capped end has a ball bearing in it and the pressure is blowing past.
The picture has somehow been uploaded upside down but you can see the cap in the centre, on the end of the pipe that has 2 unions going into it.
Has this part failed...... is there another reason this would be letting pressure past?

Looks like a small pressure relief valve, remove it and check for any debris in it, then refit it. If no debris in it may need replacing

I have ones with a little ring on them, on the bit that presses against the
ball, I pull it out and let it hammer against the seat a few times and it
stops it leaking. Not had to do it for 20 years or so, so they are pretty
reliable things.
Not a lot of room for a valve in there?

Is that the ball you can see in the hole?
