Are they fincord m? if so that sounds about right as a 5kg pack will cost you around £40ish

Bohler or phoenix 6013 are just as good,probably less than what i quoted

Is that local? The difference in price will probably be delivery.

3.2's & 2.5's from bohler, esab, oerlikon's etc.. can stick like 80 in a box for you if you whack over a fiver for postage.

Except that in 2.0, 2.5 and 3.2 a pack of Fincord M is about 4 kg.

That is back home.they should be as cheap here.
Oerlikon/air liquide also do a similar rod called citofix for a tenner a pack

Very true, but they're what I refer to as 5kg packs as in they're not vacuum packed but they're packed in some cardboard.

all I know is if there under 12 quid and they weld good I'm -happy. I sometimes get them cheap and try them. if there crap they go in the bin

I use Overcord Z 6013 and Spezials 7016 for structural.
The guys over at Air liquide know what are doing!

We've got nigh on a tonne of overcord Z in all diameters in our warehouse yet I've still never used them. A local aluminium companies maintenance departments uses them like theirs no tomorrow.
For low hydrogen stuff I favour oerlikons supercito 7018's

If you look at the cost of Fincord M from Rapid etc and bear in mind there may be postage on top, 40 x 2.5mm for a tenner is little more per rod than you pay by the packet.
Sometimes on ebay I've seen packets of Fincord etc, NOS not new and they've gone for less than £20 including postage. I've had a few packets like that and they've run fine. They seem to happen in spells, for a few weeks there are a few on sale like that and then none for months.
However, I think I prefer Phoenix 6013 (£20 or less per 5kg) to Fincord (over £40 for closer to 4kg).
