Good evening all
I have finally commissioned my Ceccato CSA 20 and started using it with my blast cabinet today.
Background:
In the run up to today, there was an issue where the comp wouldn't build pressure. Then if you turned it off ans back on, it would trip breaker.
The tech who serviced this unit for previous said it was just the intake plunger in the air filter housing area that was a little stuck from lack of use...and to just push it down with a screwdriver upon start up..and it will sort itself out. (It did). Note oil level was fine at this stage and compressor was running fine and building pressure. Aire drier also turned on.
Note: after pushing the plunger during operation, I then pushed it again when the compressor was off.. I got a big splash of oil out that plunger housing. Probably about 3 or 4 egg cups full maybe.
It seemee the sight glass for oil was still ok. I reckoned it took a few litres oil and a small drop missing was no harm.
Now fast forward to today. I was using the compressor for maybe 35/40 minutes with my cabinet and I noticed it wasn't building pressure.
That was an oil temperature fault and so motor wouldn't start - fair enough.
I then noticed that the oil sight showed some oil in there with lots of bubbles in it.. when the oil settles you can't even see the level in the glass any more.
I have attached some pictures. The gauges show the starting pressure (I bled it off to test) and the temperature upon reaching 10 bar.
I've read the common cause for this is refrigerant getting into the oil. Does cause overheating too?
I believe the unit was serviced not long ago and hasn't done many hours since.
What do people think of this?
The guy who services this machine said it was fine and he is in the next town. I can call him to come out during the week if needed.
