Oil for my project.

Probably an odd question, but here goes. I am about to start up my blaster compressor. It is a Ford 1.8TD diesel driving a small Renault engine as a compressor. So, what oil should I put in the Renault? Proper compressor oil looks very thin. Normal engine 20/50 looks too thick as it expects to get hotter. So, perhaps a 15 grade?
Any ideas from the panel?

Jeez, am I getting a reputation?
Food just called, so the project might not get up today.
The Beast is doing very well, thank you. No fingers involved so far. But I wonder if the blade suffered from cutting up the ally B&S engine for the punch, as it seems to make more sparks now.

just stick any engine oil in it .my home made comp has run on it for the last 35 years. the pump was run with pressure fed oil directl of the bus engine it came off

the pump never got chance to be fitted. as soon as it was recoditioned it was lifted from the stores and found its way on to my gas bottle tank 2 days later
