Old 3 stud trailer axle

I have some old 3 stud trailer axles that I'm using for a project but I'm missing a bearing grease cap.

I'm hopping someone could point me in the right direction or at least tell me what the axles where originally from.

Above is a pic of the cap I'm looking for. The axles where originally had rod operated brakes but as I didn't need these I stripped them off.

The cap is rather unusual as it has a male thread to screw into the hub, the threads measure aprox 55mm OD .

The only hubs I know of with 3 studs are on the Austin 7 but they don't look like Austin hubs.

Renault used 3 stud hubs also, never looked safe to me.

My Renault 5 had 3 stud wheels and never lost one. There are trailers with three stud hubs, Combicamp trailers used them in the 60s.

Old austin and Hilman weels are what fits, I think they are from something like the 40's but they could be earlier.

You can still buy 3 stud trailer wheels. I am after some trailer wheels for adapting to my quadbike and have come across dealers selling them numerous times.
Citroen used 3 stud on some of their older models as well as Renault and Peugeot so my betting it it's French

I noticed on the James May car program the other night that the Citroen CV2 he was driving had 3 studded hubs . So ,I'm someone on the net will have some ,either ebay or a motoring forum .

I post a message on another forum about this hub and here is a reply -
"I reckon thats a very early Lockheed 3 stud trailer hub. They came with or without brakes and quite often on small military trailers. The Hillman Tilly had 3 studs so the trailers were made to match the PCD as they were used for military as well. My old car trailer has an almost identical hub but with 4 studs, but the middle bit is exactly like that."
If that is correct then that would make the axle WWII era !
