hi to everyone,
well here goes! i have inherated a very large multi fuel outdoor boiler, i mean big enough to burn an exwife or so. anyway, the problem is that the previous owner of the boiler kept herself warm by burning car batteries and anything else she could find. so you can imagine the state of the inside when i cleaned it out. the boiler was working great but soon i noticed water coming out of the little fire door. i found the problem as-soon as the fire was put out buy the water. well as luck would have it, the back plate in the boiler had aquired afew holes and the water from the water jacket was wizzing in.
The first point is, the back plate with the holes in, is made of what???
second point is, the plate looks realy thin so can i weld it and if so with what. i am a welding new comer but can use not very well a gas welder.
i also have a tig or mig the one with the clamp and rod anyway.
the boiler is a WILKIM MULTI FUEL BOILER from fife.
is this possible to do?
can i do it??????
