Needed to extract the outer races of two collapsed bearings from two housings offering no opportunity to drift the up from behind. When I had the business it would have been a quick deicate cut with the gas axe and pick them out but alas in retirement no O/A.
Didn't trust myself with the plasma at the angle and restricted access and the same went for the mig so dug out the old Max-Arc buzz box, changed the plug and retrieved a rod from the airing cupboard ( where else would you keep them) !
Couple of practice runs on some scrap and then a bead around the inside of each race to shrink them , let them cool and with a sharp tap they were out.
