I was in a joinery shop the other day to look at a machine, only had one broom in the place and it was 4 foot wide. the gangways were all clear but around the machines it was half way up the walls with dust and shavings. Had to get them to shovel it out for me to open the side panel.

Have refused to weld on site before today when it's been horrendously dirty to the point of being a hazard. As to the sets, you'll never trip one out

There used to be a unit along from where I worked, just like that, every wood working machine in the shop was surrounded by a foot and a half of dust/chippings/shavings.
The landlord went in there one evening to read the electric meter, everybody had gone home and yeah, one of the piles was smouldering. The guy working there had put a fag down on the table of a spindle moulder while he took a mobile call, wandered off and forgot about it, it fell off the edge into the chippings. The unit was full of kiln dried timber and heated by propane. He had a mobile dust/chip extractor but half the time it wasn't connected to the machine in use.
