I'm building a shoe cleaner for a golf club, basically its an insulated compressor housing with two blowguns that are used for blowing off mud and debris, my dilemma comes from sizing the correct compressor to suit, im thinking 3hp 50 litre abac or equal, nothing too extravagent as im on a budget, if you imagine two guys blowing mud of their shoes for say three minutes, i dont want the tank to have to take five minutes to fill up before the next geezer can use it! any thoughts?

I cant imagine the air pressure blowing mud that has been pressed into the soles of shoes by the individuals weight and if the pressure is high enough to do that, then perhaps you could be introducing risk of compressed air against skin and particles hitting the eyes...or am I being over cautious.

Don't the better golf (you don't pronounce the 'l' apparently, like Ralf Fiennes is Rafe) clubs have wizened retainers to clean the grot from the very silly golf shoes?

yes, its normal practice to use these at these Golf clubs, they are common at top level football clubs too, previously ive made the acoustic enclosures for them, then someone else has fitted the compressed air gear.

There is normally a polycarbonate screen between the operator's vision and the footrest where the operator places his feet.

Blow guns consume alot of air so you may need to double up two 3HP machines for an adequate supply.

you could always get a comp with a 200 - 250 litre cylinder it will take longer to fill but will cope better with 2 or 3 people using it then fill inbetween uses

Yes, ok, thats what i was trying to avoid , what i may do is offer one blowpipe. Budget or space wont allow for any more , thanksGuys

Sounds a good idea then, my other arf is always complaining about the dog trailing mud in... got me thinking now, he can't play gold though
