Fred as far as I know we have nothing like Harbour Freight this side of the waters....

very handy if they last.....almost the most used size in the box now...

think they'd clean up if ever they came to Europe....

Yes and you always seam to pck up the 9 then the 11, thinking that's the 10 ....

Sad as they were a good shop selling way more gear than the usual DIY shops.
I think in this country though there's not enough people actually capable of doing any advanced DIY to buy the tools!

I don’t care much about the cheapest price. Good quality at a reasonable cost is far more important.

When I was (much) younger, some of the cheap chinese tools were simply regarded as only useful for one job - and not always good enough to last that one job - then throw away.

Lidl had sets of quite nice sockets in metal boxes so when they turned up in the reduced section I was tempted. Every set had the 10mm and 13mm sockets missing !

We used to have Northern Tool which was pretty similar to Harbour Freight but they closed up in the UK some time ago. Shame.

Working on Japanese cars it's the most used size I find.

I was always losing the 10mm & 12mm ring spanners...in the end I put 2 long timber screws in the wall above the door and I have x6 of each on there now.

....I still run out of them too!

We used to have Northern Tool which was pretty similar to Harbour Freight but they closed up in the UK some time ago. Shame.

Northern Tool still exists in the US - and seems to sell reasonable stuff.

Northern Tool in the UK seemed to sell the Chinese tat manufacturers scrap junk that the scrap man had refused to take as it had so little real metal content!

I'd say Machine Mart is our version of Harbor Freight - the same sort/identical stuff, just in different boxes.

I might have been such a regular visit to a branch in the SugarLand, Houston area, the manager knew me by name

that was the case years ago total dross i always have had quality sockets and spanners have a 3/8th drive set of bergen sockets up to 19mm and no matter what i use them on you cant kill them
