My trusty everyday use esab warrior tech is dying, red battery light permanently on, dark patch middle of the screen etc, I've been offered a new optrel crystal for around £60 more than a new esab savage what's the thoughts on these, I don't care how clear it is when not welding I'll lift the lid anyway

I had a shot on one a few years ago and it was, well, crystal clear - if only £60 more I'd certainly go for it.

No the shop was selling them cheap as no one was buying them got it for £120 with a pack of free lenses, I like it the blue view was strange for a bit

The lads in the shop have been great, I wouldn't go anywhere else now, they had the next version up aswell I think for £200 but my big nose didn't work with it

I am by no means a welder , but the Optrel was a game changer for me .
Especially on the low amp settings .
Never had a bright flash yet .
The headgear is simple and very pleasant to wear .
That being said the new R Tech air fed mask is very good .
The wife loves hers .
