Evening all , I have already made a post of help and thought it best to introduce myself proper ( ly )
By day I work with timber and make all sorts of stuff , both on site and furniture for customers , I do also make stuff to sell furniture wise . I do like to mix stainless with exotic timber . I have always designed the stainless side and had someone make it for me . Last year my fatherinlaw passed away and I was gifted his TIG unit . Over the last few months I have been playing in my spare time with it and am slowly learning to add filler rod nicely , very slowly as I dont get much of a chance and when i do it may be only for 5 minutes . I want to be able to weld my own parts and components for my projects .
I can mig weld quite happily and spent over 2 years working for my fatherinlaws business , welding both structural steel and other projects . I do not claim to be the best , just compentent . I can make claims to having "owned" arc eye three times . Once by my own stupidness of forgetting to flip my lid down , and twice , some one sparking up next to me with no warning lol . got to love that feeling , not .
I did have my own workshop until recently when I needed to access my garden with big plant to fit a sewage treatment plant . I am now about to rebuild it as I have a back log of work and commisions . It will be 6 x 4 metres of pure bliss compared to the 4 x 4 I had before . I dont intend to do any mig welding in it but I will setting up a dedicated TIG area as the rest will be for my joinery work .
