Oxford 5kg spool adapter...

Well, firstly this is my first post on anything I have made so go easy.
Basically been lurking for a little bit, couple of years maybe.. finally bought myself a decent welder...so it's all user error now.
It's a oxford 240-1 beauty but I asked about and it's spose to be able to take 5kg reels... but it's far to low on the wire feed end and the reel tension doesn't clamp it down so I got terrible de spooling... so tonight was the night... let me know what you think... Oh and I'm so sorry about the welds... there terrible I know.

Am I right in saying the machine screw is screwed up to contact the spool to offer some drag resistance to stop it running on after you stop welding? Could do with something like that on my wee sealey. I think the welds look grand for what it is, can't see it breaking any time soon and on something non critical and as a wee quickly upgrade I think it's perfectly adequate

Oh cheers.. Yeh it screws down to stop it all un winding. The welds ain't brilliant but Itsi not going anywhere. Lol

Looks good to me, let us know how you get on with the green goddess, when I upgrade intend to get a 230/240 either tec arc, oxford or portapig, but cant really sus out the tech differance between the three, it would be second hand (very probably!) recently got a old tec arc 195(180) and apart from repairing the wire drive as that was all to **** very pleased with it , especial sweet on the 20 amp setting, nice and smooth.Arther

Blimey didnt get a notification on this.... well so far i cannot complain at all... she is so smooth. Not tried it out up high as only on 13amp plug and dont want an ear bashing from the boss.

Here you go arther... Obviously in the hands of a novice its probably super rough. But all i can say its a million times better than my old sealey. And the 4m torch is so flipping handy.
