paint booth filters

I’m building myself a small painting booth and I’m trying to find some kind of air filters for it

I’ve tried using net curtains as a stop gap but they don’t work too well

On some of the American web sites they keep mentioning Furnace Filters

What are they and were can I get some ?

spray boothe outward filters come on a roll and look like a thicker version of scotchbrite pads but much bigger dont forget you will also need to filter the air that enters the booth aswell

just to add a little the clean filtered air is usually fed from above so it flows down and the exhaust filter at the back of the booth floor level to a height of about 3 feet so everything is pulled down and out if you are planning to paint cars in there then you will need around 8,000 to 10,000 cubic feet per minute air flow to be really effective which is a large amount great big fan required

I've built the spray room with a pair of fans at the back and made a temp outlet filter at the bottom of the door

you can see that it works in a fashion

One of the problems you will have is pulling cold air in and pushing the heat out, You need to keep the temp constant.

what about cooker hood filter paper, or even using an old cooker hood?
they're obviously designed for taking airborne particles out of an airflow. some are active carbon too.
