Hi Chaps, I am currently building a wood burner and need the finished color of it to be silver or grey. Is there any heat resistant paints i can buy for this ? Thanks Si
Dont know for Grey but most of us for our 2T exhausts use Plastikote BBQ Satin Black paint, I have used other heat resistant paints and they have been useless.
For grey you could use, POR-15 Manifold Grey its guaranteed up to 760°C [1400°F] without peeling or flaking and for silver theres POR15 POR-20 Heat Resistant Paint ,again good for up to 1400°F. I have used both these paints on exhaust manifolds with great results. Got mine from frost.co.uk
If you want grey, spray it black then shoot a thin coat of white over the top. I do this kind of thing with the burners I make all the time as the range of colours available is really limited. Calfire is another good stovepaint maker incidentally.
