Hi all,
Have been reading a few articles on this site and now have a question regarding the compressor with paint gun and an air-fed mask (despite being told by about 5 different people a 2K 3M mask is fine I couldn't feel happy risking it).
I am new to spraying cars, and have purchased some kit to do the job (re-spray an Alfa 155).
I have this gun: http://www.sealey.co.uk/PLPageBuild...tmicrogroup=&analysiscode=&requiredresults=16
and this air-fed mask: http://www.southernfiltersltd.com/shop.asp?pid=12
The gun says 6-11 CFM and the mask I am not too sure about without seeing the instructions which are in another place.
The compressor is a 2 year old 150L 14 CFM. Will I be able to run the mask and the gun off the one compressor?
What happens if the mask is underfed? How can I check it has the right amount of air?
I presume I will end up inhaling fumes as I understand they work by pushing air away from myself so fumes can't get in?
If for example the mask is a requirement of 8 CFM, leaving only 6 for the gun, will this cause me problems. I can imagine the compressor will be running flat out but as it will be my first time spraying I won't be going for long spray runs without releasing the trigger. Might I get away with the minimum spec?
Many thanks for your help,
Jack
