Paint gun,

Hello,
On the look out of a paint gun, not sure what to get, was looking at this

or is there any others you would recomend, that would be tops on what id plan on spending, also what size needle should you go for, is one size for one type of paint etc

I bought a kestral gun for not a lot more than that only use it for primer but it is well made and spares are available, also heard the sealey gold guns are good and can be picked up on ebay cheaply. I have not heard much about Bergen tools but seems expensive at over £38

Thanks for you reply, but i see the bergin is 3cfm whereas that sealy is 6-11cfm, would one be better keeping as low as possuible with that, als what about the pin size

There's no way that Bergen is only taking 3cfm (especially if it really is HVLP), I have two of their mini's (dead good btw) and they take more than that I would think.
I also have a Sealey Gold, it's OK, use mine for primers - good thing with Sealey is you know you can get spares, and the different needle/nozzle/cap setups are very cheap.

Ordered a sealey s701g,under €45 delivered, now what about a water trap, do the ones you can connect to the gun itself stop oil as well?

Im just setting up my new compressor for spraying too...

All my research points to YES...they filter it out too. But just wait for somebody more experienced to step in and confirm.

I have ordered the Sealey gun on the recommendation of almost everyone I've spoken to so I think its a smart buy.

Thanks for the reply,ya the sealey gun should be good,Just purchased a fiac 200l compressor there myself as wel,in setting the pressure for spraying is it enough to set slightly greater than the required pressure at the compressor, and hopefully it will be at the required pressure at the gun, maybe the thread you have on compressor set up will answer this!

I have hi flow fittings and 10mm hose to my spray gun and get no noticeable pressure drop to the spray gun, I tested with a pressure gauge near spraygun.

Unfortunately its not about how big the tank is, its the CFM output that is important.
