paint questions

Now my beetles nearly ready for paint I have a couple of questions.
I'm going to paint the outside in a booth which could be heated (oven) if I need, though I'm hoping not to.I won't be painting until the beginning of sept.
Should I use normal or fast activator with the clearcoat? I've been using fast at home to do the inside, but my thinking was if I use normal then it should flow better and give me less chance of dry spots, though if I use fast less chance of runs.
How much base should I mix up for one coat? I'm expecting to do 4 or 5 coats but don't want to run out partway through a coat, I've got 5ltrs of base so plenty to do the job.
How much clear per coat? Expecting to do 3 or 4 coats so ordering a 5ltr max meyer kit(7.5 ltrs mixed).

fast is mostly used for single panels

get normal or slow for a big job

mix up say 2 ltrs ready to use of each...should be about right...should be able to get round once with a ltr , and it ought to be covered in 2 coats or so

Cheers. I've done the inner door frames and the insides and it has been needing 3 or 4 coats for good coverage though this could be down to using a mini touch up gun, got a decent gun for the outside so may cover better.Like I say I've got 5 ltrs so no need for scrimping on paint.

yeah id not worry too much...can mix up more between coats , thinned base coat seems to keep ok anyway

As steve said use slow on a big job, you mention runs or flow checks as some like to call them the hardener won't make much difference, if your getting runs your putting it on too heavy

slower one would be best

I find basecoat thinner in the basecoat works best and a slow thinner in the clear
