Paint Spray Gun Bottle Size

A while ago, ( I know.... don't smirk. ) I bought a Parkside paint gun PDFP 500 B2 from Lidl.
I looked a little into spray guns after I bought it. I know isn't top spec and all that.
I thought I'd have a play with it as I've got a 15 cfm compressor and might use to spray up my car, doing a better job than spray cans.

The Parkside gun comes with a 500ml bottle, from what I read I seem to recollect, 500ml is a little on the small size. Are 1 litre bottles available that would fit on it, are the bottles and gun mounts all standard fittings, so one size fits all?

I'm no expert with sprayguns ...but I have done a bit of spraying ,think having a litre of paint sloshing about in the paintpot whould be hard going..... jeff...

You can get 600ml cups (they are not called bottles) on ebay with various fittings for different makes of gun but to get a full litre you would probably have to go to a system like the 3M PPS which uses an adaptor and disposable cups but it would be an expensive option for a one off job.

SATA RPS is the one I use, however, the gun adapters are eyewateringly expensive. Cups system works out under a pound a go and available in .9 and .6 litre sizes. Adapter is over £30 though.

The 3M PPS adapters can be bought for under £10 if you find which one fits your gun and you can buy part lots of measuring cups and disposable inners on ebay if you don't want to shell out for the whole thing from a paint supplier. I have no problem with the 600ml cup on my gun I mix the paint in a tin and fill it up when it gets low.
