(MODS:This thread is modified/refreshed from Projects section. . .ok?)
HI Apex Phil here.
I am new to forum I am all about painting bike fairings but still very inexperienced.
I have recently built a dedicated 'spray room'. It is 7ft x 12 ft. and 6 ft at top of walls. The room is insulated and has an infra red heater. Also has a large extractor fan and inlet vent. both filtered with glass filter currently.
I plan (hope) to use 2k paint quite a lot. For this I have a 'Sperian' air fed mask with filter pack. I run a 3 hp 14cfm Wolf 90 litre compressor with a Clarke water trap and copper pipe plus drain valve set up. I have 3/8 hose and a Devilbiss SLG £60 1.3 gun at the moment.
Does my overall set up sound decent? What could I improve? After testing my system I certainly think I need a much bigger compressor now. My compressor is working flat out and minimal pressure to gun!
If I find the '2k/ air fed mask' route not an option, Does anyone have any opinions or thoughts about using other/lesser paint types for bike fairings and helmets??
Thanks for thoughts.
