Painted my welder... for some reason.

Well, work is a bit slow at the moment and I had a few hours spare yesterday so I thought why not use some of the left over Transit white and give the poor thing a new look, after it's taken so much abuse from us over the years.

Not exactly an epic project but it killed a few hours.

Not the best paint job, few runs here and there, but it's 1000% better than before.

Knocked up some vinyl stickers to finish it off and I'm quite impressed with the ol' girl, although I'm starting to realise why welders aren't usually painted white, dirty fingerprints all over already.

One of my other on-the-sides/hobbies aside from welding and spraying is signwriting, so I have a vinyl cutting plotter. I just got an image of the clark logo off t'internet, converted it to a useable format and added the 'weld 185E' using a couple of fonts, then set it to cut, apply using application tape and bob's your uncle.

Usually do cars/vans but it comes in handy for little bits like this

You could always size and print it out in large format and then cut out the text with a scalpel.

Place/tape it over the newly painted side and spray the cut out text

The wife does card making, we got her a cutter outer thingamy jig, runs off the pc. I made a card stencil to finish off a job on some aluminium. Works a treat with an airbrush and the possibilities are numerous.

I see - it certainly puts the finishing touches to a job like that - it sounds like a really useful bit of kit.
