Painting Aluminium and GRP

Hi Guys,
Looking for some advice if you don't mind! I have acquired a Lotus 7 replica kit car in need of serious tlc. Without boring you all with the details, I need to completely re-fabricate the space frame and afterwards make new side panels which I planned to do out of 1.2mm sheet aluminium. I also planned to retain the original scuttle, bonnet, wheel arches and nose cone all of which are GRP and currently painted COB. I unfortunately don't have access to air-fed equipment so all painting will have to be 1K, I know , I know I would dearly love to start with epoxy, but unfortunately can't Ok, my question is, before I spend a load of cash on ali, does etch prime, celly prime, basecoat, then 1K clear sound ok for the ali? Then 600 grit scuff, celly prime, basecoat then 1K clear for the painted GRP sound ok? obviously flatting etc between coats (not basecoat!)
I accept this is a very broad generalisation, I'm just trying to work backwards to establish the best way of attacking this.

2k epoxy (at least the lechler one)_ does not contain isocynates and can be used with a good mask. Buy it tinted close to your top coat colour.

Also goes directly on aluminium and grp, no need for the etch primer. Look up the data sheet for prep req's

Really? I didn't know that, that's cheered me up immensely. Cheers mate that's a much better option than I was expecting!
