Got a few small paint jobs, switchgear, small head, barrels and bits an bobs. All are in original powdercoat but need a little tlc.
The head and barrels I got single pack acid etch primer and engine enamel for the job, the switchgear etc I got some Plastikote rattle can paint and also bought some clear as I have some decals to put on them.
For the head and barrels can I just key the powdercoat, acid etch primer over the top and then paint, should I just paint over the top with out the primer? When I did my engine cases I stripped all the powdercoat off, acid etched them and two coats of paint baked in the oven, they turned out very nice.
Same with the switchgear, can I key, got some rattle can primer and also as above acid etch primer either or and then apply paint.
Just not sure what to do with the powdercoat'ing, I am doing this with rattle can for quick ease and I have it there, went with engine enamel because of how I wanted it to look.
Cheers
