parts needed for compressor

Hi everyone, i have bought a 200l compressor that needs a few bits and need to check what bits these are so if anyone can help that would be great.The compressor is a 200l sip airmate 5.5 hp 3 phase that has had the 5.5hp motor swapped for a 3hp single phase motor so as it needs a pressure switch would i be best to get the switch for the 3hp single phase sip and looking at the pictures is it just a pressure switch i need other than it also needing a air filter cartridge and filter.Am i right in thinking that to wire it would be plug to pressure switch then pressure switch to motor, and lastly does the gearing ratio from the motor to the pump look about right for this motor, thanks.

Any generic pressure switch will do the job, they can be had on ebay for about £10, sometime less. You will also need the tube that connects from the unloader on the pressure switch to the non return valve on the tank. Pulley ratio looks about right. You can also get an airfilter on ebay, there are lots of types so just find one that will fit, or you could use a car oil filter adapted to fit, a popular mod around here !

i think i already have the tube, in picture 5 there is a tube coming from the pressure switch which screws onto the fitting in picture 4 but the pressure switch end has a special fitting which is why i thought i would get the sip one as i assumed it would be the same fitting but thinking about it the pressure switch might have been changed already and might not be sip tube anyway, what do you think.

The tube on the pressure switch in your pic is just pushed into a push lock fitting, If you pull back the white collar seen around the tube, towards the fitting, the tube will pull free.
That fitting could be attached to the new pressure switch.

That pressure switch will do for it just unclip the black tube and connect it to the new switch, some have olives and some are just push fit, you will need to change from the three pin plug as well as the motor draws 14.4amps.

fit a 20 amp double pole isolator switch near the comp then wire back to a type c mcb or a 16amp rewirable fuse in 2.5mm cable. the motors 14,4 amp full load current but the inrush starting load will probably be about 50 amps hence the type c breaker

Will the 3hp motor run that pump ?? Just asking as when I done it I had issues with the motor at pressures over 6 bar

if it hasnt been geared down it will get hot and overload at full pressure and wont like being re started under load as it would be underpowered by 2hp

yes unfortunately but it will still run it ive got a 2hp on one of my comps and it should be a 3hp. i got it for nothing so fitted it it just to say starts it in cold weather and runs hot in prolonged use
