Parts Washer Fluid

The Stag is sold, so the P4 110 now has the garage to itself and I'm getting stuff sorted now there is room. I have a parts washer that I can now get to, what fluid do people use?

I have a smaller one at home and I've used paraffin, it seems to do the job, but is there anything better?

Many thanks as ever for the suggestions. The Screwfix option it appears can damage aluminium, Jizer seems popular but at £28 for 5L it's not cheap, but people do seem to use it for years... It's a Nu Tool parts washer and I'm not sure of the capacity. I'll have to see how much I need.

I think it can stain alu, rather than actually damage it. Used diluted then rinsed off it would probably be ok and any staining could easily be polished off.

I use the screwfix one to degrease mesh on alloy frames.

If you leave the alloy in it for days / weeks it will go furry on the surface, so it's clearly doing something, however, an application onto something in a parts washer (and subsequent rinsing) would be fine, I think.

I sprayed down and engine with it, neat, once, on the public highway. (Allegedly) it started making the white lines on the road run also.

1000 ltrs of C.H.Oil in a big'ish tank and 50p ltr in the garden and a ' Texas credit card' to assist removal seems to work .
parts tank consists of a H/D plastic box thing fed by a slurry pump .

I recently bought a big Clarke parts washer and foolishly (naively?) used the detergent they recommended rather than just bunging kerosene in it as the unit specifically said it wasn't recommended. I do wonder why though.

To reduce the working volume of part washer fluid needed in mine I put a sealed plastic 5L container in the bottom.

The pump in the Clarke isn't intrinsically safe, it's an aquarium under gravel filter pump. It shouldn't be used with combustible/flammable liquids.

i've been using screwfix's cleaner neat all day in a parts washer to clean the worlds dirtiest engine and ancillary components. most of which are alu. no signs of any issues, but wear gloves, it stings.
