I have been very pleased with mine. £39 is the standard price - not a special deal. Great if you can get one cheaper. It's well made, not floppy plastic and works well. But. I find that you do need to change the outer visors regularly. Surface scratches really affect the optical clarity. When stick welding I find that it makes no difference whatsoever, but on MIG I can't see where the heck I am going. Every so often I change the inner one too as that has an adverse effect too. Make sure you buy a pack of inner and outers. Weldequipe sell them on here by the way and don't be stingy by not swapping them. I use tape to seal around the outer lens and mask to stop dust and whatnot from getting in onto the main lens. I really cannot fault it for £39. BUT and this is the big but.. if I had more money I would buy a better helmet. I posted a thread on here about the numbers associated with helmets and optical clarity. As clean as you lens might be, it is only so good in terms of 'see-through-ability' and the X914 is not at the top. Why is an ESAB £200? Well there's your answer. It's a better helmet. But you will not be wasting your money on the Parweld.
I'm not stalking you by the way - I just happen to have one!
Hah a stalker !!!!. Hi Furry, I don't mind if you did stalk me. At least I know I am lurved by someone, more than I do at home.....
So its not bad then, ok, well I currently have a Jackson (lansec) turbo in /turbo max in but I can't seem to find front outer lenses for it localy and the parweld seems to be everywhere, I figured it might be good to have another mask at that price.
I also have a Parweld X914 and am very pleased with it- and I echo Furry Freaks comments. It is a very good helmet for the money- far far better than a non reactive one, and yes, i have a pack of inner and outer lenses as they do get scratched/ burnt, especially if you lie underneath cars to do some welding.
Just don't drop it on the floor. My first Parweld stopped darkening after I dropped it on the floor one too many times, but it was three years old then so not too bad. I was sufficiently pleased with it to buy a replacement.
I have a SIP welder which regularly annoys me to such an extent that my welding helmet often gets thrown across the garage, yet it takes everything I throw at it or throw it at.
