First off. I'm not a welder. I've never welded anything in my life.
My reason for signing up is for a bit of advice from you all. Mainly because every time I search for escort van sills on google, this website comes up.
I have an escort van which Is currently off the road, due to the sills I didn't even bother trying the mot. I'm hoping to put it back on the road so need to sort the sills out.
I either need to pay someone to do this for me, or I can do it myself for the same cost and probably end up with a welder at the end of it. Unless anyone fancies something to practice on and lives anywhere near south woodford. Lol.
I've looked at the van and can't see where the outer sills join. Is it a case of cutting them off along the line at the bottom of the door. The inner sills I'm guessing you can only get too after cutting the outer sills off?
Does anyone have any advice. For this, a guide possibly?
And regarding welders, I only need a basic one, second hand will do. What ones should I look at.
I'm in south woodford London if anyone would be willing to lend a hand.
Hopefully below are pictures of one of the sills. The other is similar. Considering these the rest of the van is fairly tidy underneath. It looks quite old. The bloke who had the van before was an mot tester hence why it was never sorted
