Pcl couplings

I'm upgrading my aldi special compressor to a Clarke industrial 14 cfm jobbie.

I've ordered some new 10mm bore air hose and was looking for some suitable quick release fittings to go with it. But MM only seem to stock the standard pcl fittings with a 4.5mm (ish) bore, surely these would be restrictive, can anyone recommend some decent fittings, or will the standard pcl ones be ok?

I'll be using the compressor for general workshop stuff, windy gun, air hammer, body saw, paint spraying and very occasional media blasting using a pressure pot.

You should be OK with those, the restriction isn't for a long length.

There are some claw type couplings, but they tend to get used with high output compressors such as road compressors.

Better to go with UNI (8-10mm bore) if you can... IIRC screwfix had some reasonable quality & fairly cheap. search for airline

Ah, now they look like the same connectors as the ones that come with the aldi comp and tools, do you think these are a better option? They do seem a good price and are easily bought as I have a screwfix branch fairly close to me.

I have just upgraded to a 10mm bore pipe (from 8mm) and those screwfix large bore connectors. My impact gun has a lot more torque now, it managed to easily undo beetle hub nuts that before the upgrade it couldn't.

Not sure how much the hose affected it though

hose & fittings together make a big difference IME

I have been using UNI for getting on 15 years I would think.... not really needed for spray etc but prefer one fitting for all and nailers & sanders seem to work better with it.
