Pea shooter flow meter.

Hi all, Just had my flow meter come through the door and can,t
wait to get welding.........well try
I have a Clarke 160TM and a 9L argon/Co2 mix Adams gas bottle.
So, the black rubber bit goes on the end of the torch, let the gas
go through slowly. Now what should it read on the meter?
Can i switch off the welder to stop the wire feeding as i do this.
I'm welding in my garage so there's on wind, and i would like to
practice on 1.5-2.5 thick steel.

The best way to do it is to release the tension on the wire drive wheels to stop the wire feeding.
With the welder switched on and gas connected put the peashooter on the end of the torch...pull the trigger and see what the gauge reads....around 10 lpm is about right.
Adjust the flow with the large knob on the bottle regulator..it should be clockwise (inwards) for more flow or the other way for less.

That's far too complicated just turn the machine off

Gas should still flow with the trigger pressed, well my clarke does anyway

I see what you mean i was thinking the gas valve was in the machine and not the torch.
