few weeks ago I was bored and went into the workshop. Didn't know what to do so came up with this. The water holder is a50mm pipe fitting, I cut it neatly and sanded flat with some abrasive paper on a glass sheet. Soldered a base from the inside then filed, sanded and polished smooth. Joint is almost invisible.
Made the holder from a strip of copper sheet cut and bent to shape. Invisible fixing for the base were copper slate nails soldered to the underside of the holding arm. These were inserted through two holes in the oak base and peened over.
