Hello,
Pls can I use a photochromic glass to do arc welding? Would the lens darken automatically? Is there any negative side effect(s) on using it?
Thank you.
Please don't use goggles. You're exposing your face to high levels of UV. Skin cancer in later life .Thank you very much for your replies and info.
I'll continue using my welding goggles.
OMG! Most of the welders around me use just sunglass/goggles.Please don't use goggles. You're exposing your face to high levels of UV. Skin cancer in later life .
Thats a very very quick way to end up blind , even tacking without a mask and closing your eyes eventually cooks your eyes . Quite a common thing in the shipyards here in days gone by.OMG! Most of the welders around me use just sunglass/goggles.
Did you mean even with the dark glasses?Thats a very very quick way to end up blind , even tacking without a mask and closing your eyes eventually cooks your eyes.
if the glasses dont have the correct lenses in ,,, yes . gas welding lenses are for gas welding butDid you mean even with the dark glass?
its not the smoke ,,, its the radiation ,, basically sunburnI've also noticed some welders' faces darken from the electrode smoke.
Ahhh yeah , two tone weldersI've also noticed some welders' faces darken from the electrode smoke.
Thanks! Gotten it.
