Picador: Friends Reunited

So thanks to @roofman , I now have a lovely double ended shaft to which I can add my recently restored Picador adjustable motor mounting.

Now I know this isn't how they mate but just to show they are the same family with matching spacings and general sizes.

Can't remember where this came from (though there's probably a thread on here about it).

So on my motorised todo list is:

2X72 belt sander
Surface sanding attachment (like a surface grinder but using a wide abrasive belt)
Polishing <thing>

I have a ton of spare motors to play with and all the time in the world. I'll probably post up whatever contraption I come up with, so at this early stage, any suggestions welcome.

The fates may have already decided. I found this.

I might prefer a vertical mount but otherwise, these parts seem to belong.

The shaft means I could fit a disk sanding wheel alongside the belt. The adjustable motor mount gives me the option of a cone pulley on a short belt. Just needs a quick Sketchup and it looks like an easy and obvious design.

Might need to think about putting a better surface on the pressure plate (glass or ceramic?), replace the bearings, otherwise should be a quickie build.

<edit> it may not be obvious but this part is also a Picador...
