just picked up a cheap used mig. I don't recognise the make. It came with 2 spools one 5kg mig wire and a .6 flux cored parkside small roll.
anyone know anything about this make. bonus is its Gas/No-gas. A quick test i can sizzle bacon sound
I had a little play with it. On some 1.5mm box section. Its a bit rough using 0.6 flux cored which came with it. 2nd pic I did blow through but managed to fill hole
digging a bit deeper. Nu-tool now Nuair in poland did not make this machine. I have just had an email back from them.
I have just emailed Awelco in italy to see if they have any infomation. going by the thunderbolt label
the machine was sold in the UK around 2004 by NuTool UK. this company does not exist anymore.
I have acquired a Maypole turbo 120 MIG welder from my dad. I have only used arc welding but never a MIG welder. I started the MIG welder even though the pressure in the Co2 was showing zero. It arced once and then the wire feed stoped. The cooling fan is working. I cleaned the gun feed nozzle...
Hi guys, I have a relatively old basic mig (Kestrel Multimig 100 - no I've never heard of it since I bought it either!!). it hasn't had much service although I did use it about 25 years ago to weld up the front of my wife's mini metro quite successfully. Recently I have started to use it again...
Hi I am looking at converting my old Mig to euro connector, is it worth it? I am trying to work out what voltage solenoid I need and where to connect it. I am measuring 24v Dc to chassis from cable that runs to the nozzle is this the voltage? Actually 21.6v output 1 and 25v output 2 setting...
cheers for that eddie. only variant is mine seems to have one wire less on top.
going to have to get pen and paper out and draw out the circuit dia from the machine. plus side as all components are standard run of the mill easy to replace.
barring the transformer going tits up. This thing should see me well in to old age. going to be change the earth clamp on it as its naff
just having a play/practice with it on 1mm steel using 0.6 flux cored wire
first attempt . Its a bit rough but I got penetration and no blowing through. just little tacks one one the the other and in the middle. with tacks filling in
Each pair of pics is front and back view
2nd go blew through a few times but managed to fill holes
3rd i missed to follow the join lol
4th and laid a few beads down as well machine is set on lowest setting. unknown brand of 0.6mm flux core wire
As mentioned above, get some Co2/Argoshield in a 10kg bottle and see if it welds better…the welds on flux core wire are just rubbish but may improve with proper shielding gas !
