i just did a test spray before spraying the bottom half of my car with jotun 87 epoxy, the test piece showed up little pin holes and fish eyes, the jotan is winter grade hardener mixed throughly 10 mins ago with about 10 % epoxy thinner
Blasting won't necessarily get rid of solvents &c that have soaked into the metal.
I blasted some items that had been marked up with marker pen, but the marks showed through subsequent powder coating, even though the surface appeared clean prior to coating.
could it be that i didnt use jotuns own thinner? i sprayed it before with brandless epoxy thinner and it worked fine,i just went out and cleaned a piece of new steel and spayed it and it was exactly the same so it cant be wd40 surely
Try thinning it more, e.g. 20 percent or more. It's thick stuff and if your gun is struggling to atomise it you can get a spitting effect which can look like that.
nope work piece in the shed compressor outside a fair distance away,im going to try some thinned down before i give up,im waiting on lechler automotive epoxy for tomorrow anyway i just hope its the paint and not the equipment or the user lol
Yep, I've been sandblasting today and the water trap on the blaster was filling up every 10 minutes. It's been a warm humid day so masses of water in the air....
