Pipe union flanged joint

My compressor has a 1/4 inch diameter aluminium tube from the pressure switch to the air tank. The unions at the ends of this pipe use a flange formed into the pipe, and a nut (see picture). How is this flange made? There must be a special tool for doing this, I suppose. I need to replace this pipe now, so I need to make these flanges in a new piece of aluminium (or I suppose copper) pipe. How do I do this?

I'm pretty sure it's not an olive, but is formed into the metal of the pipe.

get what unions u need and use Nylon pipe.....not diff....
The ally has a timed life which u've reached....

If you really want a similar ‘flange’, you could use a piece of brake pipe with the common double flare?

You need a Fairmount flaring tool for that type of swage. Lucas/cav fuel pipe unions used the same type of swage form.

get what unions you need and use Nylon pipe...

Is there any issue with heat in the area the pipe is used, that would make nylon unsuitable or have a short life?
