Piston Carving; Skull

Bored stoopid this aft, so decided to carve a piston. Not sure how far I'm going with it, finish or detail wise. I haven't the patience to polish it to within inches of my life. Though it might get a buff

Air die grinder with a carbide burr, heat and a hammer

I've never done anything like this before so didn't know what to use, the above seemed like the likely culprits.

They are very brittle; I've fractured his eye socket and cheek bone, I was going to weld it up, but I think it adds to it.

It would be interesting to see what a .300 win mag would do to his looks. I've got another 5 to go at

I think it's looking good mate. How about building up with a bit of weld where you need it for cheekbones etc?

That said I don't know the composition of your piston so don't know how easy it would be with what kit you have.

That's good for a first attempt, better than anything I could do. Think I would leave it as is

Use it as a hood ornament for your truck. The style is perfect given you trucks history.

on the roof of the truck, led s behind the eyes....now that would look good,fazerrus promted the thought so credit to him, I think bonnet ornament are some what illegal due to pedestrian safety, no doubt some one on here knows the full sp on that.

You dont know what else to do to it?
Just stick at it until it feels finished. Or take the traditional option of just a bit more, just a bit more. just a bit more and cock it up completely.
Often the best results come from reclaimed cockups.

think american running lights roof of cab 5 cut down pistons as skulls with amber leds in the eyes
or one Skull piston with amber eyes coming through the bonnet as if it's thrown a rod
