if it had been fired, it would look like the brass case on the left with a dimple in the middle. That is still live !Its Definitely been fired as it's from a used shell..but if it hasn't, whats the best way to remove it?
When you say knock it out I assume it would be from inside out if that makes sense like it does in my head, and not striking it as though to fire it.Put the shotgun case in WD40 or similar for 24 hours, that should kill the primer. Then you can gently knock it out. Wear safety glasses and ear muffs just in case and keep at arm length from it whilst your doing the deprimming.
